February 9, 20224 yr I currently have in my possession two HP DL380P Gen 8 servers. Each one is running 192 gigs of RAM as well as dual Intel Xeon E5 2640 6C processors. I'm looking to turn both of them into unraid servers however I remember reading some place a while back that installing unraid to micro SD cards or SD cards wasn't currently supported. I'm not sure if this is the case still or not. However I did noticed that on both of the motherboards they have an SD card slot that can be used for booting/vm etc. I was wondering if I was able to run unraid off of it or through the USB port on the motherboard interior. I supplied photos for both of them for reference. I do have normal USB ports on the front and back of the server case but I was just trying to keep everything internal for a cleaner look if possible. Any help would be appreciated and I thank you in advance.

I was told that this was a reliable drive for unraid however after owning it for just a year I notice that sometimes somehow the card gets unassigned and all of my vm's and Docker containers disappear until I reboot the server. To me it doesn't seem to be very reliable so I was trying to find a different way of doing something more reliable even if I have to put it on a solid-state drive. Do you have any recommendations by chance for a well tested flash drive or can I just mount the OS on a SSD so won't have this problem in the future? I could be wrong but I thought normal hard drives /ssd's get a GUID as well so I could be wrong?
