Newbie Question about ZFS Share SMB Extras Settings

Featured Replies

Hi there, I'm an unraid newbie and just made a fresh install. I started moving all my files to my unraid share right now. I created a raidz1 pool (? i think it's a pool) but I have a problem that all my files that I put on that share are visible in the windows network without any authentication.

I have two unraid users at the moment root and matu. Is there any documentation on these "smb extras" parameters or can anyone tell me what I have to change to have authentication .

Unfortunately I'm not experienced with smb, unraid and linux in general. I could not find anything useful so far in my search. Thanks in advance.

[zfs-storage]
path = /mnt/zfs-storage/
browseable = yes
read only = no
writable = yes
valid users = root,matu

I think It is actually already working and I made a mistake. It prompts a login when I use a different device now.
Somehow my windows used the same credentials that I used on my old NAS which was under the same IP before.
