"SimpleFeatures" Plugin - Version 1.0.11

Recommended Posts

My fault on this one. I kept renaming the ZIP file without actually UNzipping it. Now I'll go and give it a try.

I would also love to input while I love these utilities and stats information I start to wonder when is too much? A lot of unraid systems run on minimal hardware and having so much stuff running may not give unraid to perform its best. The only thing that started to make me think of this was is I saw the poll at the top of the page and what is popular now is a music/movie indexer manager? NO NO NO, we don't want to take Simple Features into that direction. We should keep it for necessity utilities like log viewers, hardware lists, hard drive reports, syslog extraction, all the necessary stuff you need to run unraid in an efficient manner. When you start adding music/movie managers into that mix it turns it into a whole different beast. I think all programs like that can be processed offline on another computer that is attached to the unraid server. There's no sense in having your unraid server do all the work. In fact, I want my unraid server to do at least work possible and let me high end Windows 7 computer do all its processing power, file management, indexing, anything like that. I hope I worded this correctly to come out correctly.

Has anyone who is using the sleep plugin had problems with the server waking up correctly the 2nd or 3rd time?

I thought this was just a realtek issue, but even with my intel nic, the server is still doing this.

The server is online, but not on the network - and i suspect that the server isnt working as the drives don't appear to be spun down after a long time of waiting.

Check your sys log from telnet... those symptoms sound slightly like the BLK_EH_NOT_HANDLED error.

Separate package as mentioned.  Regardless, a file manager would use very little CPU/memory. The movie "viewer" I'd guess is secondary; yet again optional to use, and relatively light on resources.

I have only used it once or twice, but Synology has an option to "playback" a movie from the file manager.  It basically opens up vlc in a browser on the client..no transcoding involved, which reduces the CPU requirement.

Sadly the server isn't on the network so I cant telnet in and also there is no video posted so can't use the console either.  :(

How do you connect to your server?

Hi Joe, not sure what you mean?

The server boots and works fine, then I put to sleep using the simple features plugin.  It wakes OK and continues to work until after the 2nd or 3rd sleep when at that point the server is not on the network and the console is blank.

I think the console being blank is a common problem with video not being reposted after a sleep.  I can live with that as I rarely use the console anyway.

However because the server is not on the network I can't telnet in to see a syslog.

I've also tried adding the following commands into the "custom commands after wake-up" section, but they don't seem to get executed (even when the server wakes correctly):

cp /var/log/syslog /boot/syslog-post-sleep.txt

chmod a-x /boot/syslog-post-sleep.txt

Is there another way of somehow copying the syslog to the flash after the server wakes so i can try to catch what is happening?

Joe, what am I missing?

Isn't it just necessary to remove all of the packages relating to "Simple features" in Extras, and in config/plugins and just reboot. This assumes there have been no modifications to cause specific files to be installed on the flash or elsewhere (I don't think there are)

I have a couple stupid questions like will this run on unraid 4.7?  If so I copy the contents of the package to a directory called extra, and then what?  I think this is 5 beta only considering 4.7 doesn't have an extra folder.

Thanks,

Neil

Does anybody know why my e-mail config is not working? I am not receiving a single mail at both of my error recipients addresses.

The config itself works and this is an excerpt of my syslog:

I've upgraded to unraid rc2 and Simple Feature RC2

I'm getting hdparm: sending ioctl 2285 errors every minute or so.  A quick search seems to indicate it's email notification related.  When I try to stop Email Notifications from the SF Settings menu, nothing happens.  I click Stop.  The stop button disappears.  I go back to the Email Notifications settings page and it's still running.

How can I stop the notifications and/or stop the hdparm: sending ioctl 2285 log messages ?

How long before we can see this resolved.  The spamming of my syslog is painful.

Remove the email feature from the extras folder and it will stop.

I'm a total linux noob, i have the latest unraid 5.0RC5 installed and also unmenu installed.

I just installed simplefeatures with the command installplg /boot/config/plugins/simplefeatures_webserver.plg

and even rebooted.

Now, how do I access and run SimpleFeatures?

Thank You.

EDIT: ah crap, i installed the webserver and not simplefeatures itself.

So now, how do I uninstall this?

So having an issue with simplefeatures email...

gmail account, pretty much setup to email to myself  (aka all accounts are the same, dandirk@@gmail.com)

Left pretty much all settings default, looks like it was pre-setup for gmail, perfect for me...

Here is the log

Jul 8 12:35:44 Tower kernel: ssmtp[17047]: segfault at 0 ip b75bad03 sp bfb0830c error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so

Now I know its not a password issue, if I enter a false password receive a clear auth error.

Any ideas?

Running Unraid 5 RC2

This says ssmtp is crashing in libc.  has nothing to do with the password.

ssmtp[17047]: segfault at 0 ip b75bad03 sp bfb0830c error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so
