"SimpleFeatures" Plugin - Version 1.0.11

It isn't counting any of the network activity beyond what I can tell is EMHTTP.

I can say that I am not seeing this problem... Uptime is over 3 days (was longer but had to remove a RAM stick due to failure) using a Marvell 8EE8001 GigaLAN...

1. on my usb flash i created "plugins"

\\flash\config\plugins

2. i copied the latest and featured archive from google code into that folder

\\tower\flash\config\plugins\simpleFeatures.core.webGUI-1.0.5-noarch-1.plg  (and all the other files from the archive)

3. rebooted.

i noticed that there now is a subfolder "SimpleFeatures" within my plugins folder.

although it is still empty

my server has a working internet connection. i dont see why this should fail.

how could i invoke the download & installation after booting the server? maybe it tries to start it before the internet connection is etablished?

any help is greatly appreciated

edit:

in the meantime i manually downloaded all tgz files and copied them to my usb flash  \\flash\config\plugins\simpleFeatures\

when rebooting i get redirected to the right page loading simpleFeatures

but it seems that simpleFeatures.ini has not been created. also i dont know if I should delete the *.plg files, or if they are triggering the setup all the time when rebooting?

Warning: parse_ini_file(/var/local/emhttp/simpleFeatures.ini): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/webGui/template.php on line 201

after setting some settings the "warning" is removed and the config file is created.

- but many images are missing

- and the sleep service is stopped

- chart view is not accessible (not being loaded)

here is a partial snapshot of my "home" screen

anyone?

seems like i crushed my unRAID with SF :(

i'm seeing the same simpleFeatures.ini issue until i save some settings - at that point almost everything is normal, just missing settings icons for folder caching/stats as far as i can tell. i have the files in /boot/extra though as they're .tgz's; from what i gather /boot/config/plugins is for .plg's. i did get the bad download when booting, though.

i just upgraded to rc8a two days before as the last two nights i'd come home my unRAID was powered off; the and a new parity sync seem to have me back to normal (plus setting up sab/sick/etc using plugins rather than the manual install i had on my cache drive). due to that i haven't had time for troubleshooting these seemingly minor issues with sf... perhaps after my new 3TB drive gets here later this week.

I get the bad download when booting as well - it's as if the NIC isn't up when it tries to download, which is odd...

In any case, I just manually installed each plugin from the console - i.e. leave each plugin file in /boot/config/plugins, ssh/telnet in and use:

installplg simpleFeatures-whatever.plg

Link to comment

AS I recall from a discussion earlier that there is a race condition that SOMETIMES occurs between the initialization of the NIC and the plug-in installation process that causes the downloads of plugin software to fail.  The solution is to do the install manually ONE time.  This will download the files and then the install on the next restart will proceed without a problems since the files are already on the flashdrive.

Reason for Edit:  SOMETIMES was SOMETHINGS

sooo why is my cache_dirs not working correctly?  Despite being excluded in the command-args, the folders are still being cached.  Thoughts?

Note: cache_dirs keeps my drives spinning all of the time - (cmd line or plugin version). I have 6GB ram installed with 7 drives. I cant exclude directories either. Unraid 5.0 rc8a.

Also, I  am having problems getting unraid stats to show the graph. It worked on the older non-plugin version of simple features v1. It will show the historic figures though - it just doesnt seem to log any new ones.

As best i can tell, the issue is that the GUI script is force adding single-quotes to anything i put in there.  If I manually start cache_dirs with the following command in SSH all works well.

cache_dirs -w -B -m1 -M10 -d9999 -e*My_Music* -e*PC_Backup* -e*tmp* -e*app*

I am running unRAID as a VM in ESXi and I am having some problems with SimpleFeatures.  I've run SF on a couple other systems for some time and never had any problems.  So I'm wondering if it's because I'm running on ESXi.  My problems:

1.  When the array is up and running and I press the Stop button, SF tells me that it has detected an unclean shutdown.  If I reboot, unRAID starts fine and a parity sync does not start so the shut down was clean.

2.  SF does not show the duration of a parity sync.  It says "Duration unavailable (system reboot)", but I never rebooted after the parity sync.

3.  SF does not show the average speed of the parity sync like I remember it used to.

4.  When entering the Logs module, it just hangs until Chrome asks if I want to kill the page.  It never loads and is uasable.

I have tried uninstalling SF (incuding simpleFeatrue.cfg) and reinstalling it, but it didn't help.

thanks for the help with pointing out that there is a "installplg" command.

only downloading the files manually and rebooting didnt do anything for me. half of the graphics were missing and config files werent set.

i know manually installed them. havent tried to reboot though but for now it works

In the "unRaid Stats" page, I do have CPU and memory monitoring.

But the Network graph is always empty, as if there was no I/O, no activity, nothing. Is it broken ?

I am seeing something similar.

Here's something interesting... I was able to see mine just fine.  HOWEVER I happened to notice my box had negotiated down at 100mb instead of 1000mb.  I popped the wire and it renegotiated at 1000mb and now the network is blank.

Might help in the troubleshooting.

To install the plugin manually, you need to run the "installplg" command from the folder "/boot/config/plugins".

is there a setting in the simple features web ui to email me when the disks are full?

I have Critical and Warning percentages both set to default values in "Stats Settings", but I don't seem to receive any notifications/email when crossing that threshold
