June 6, 201115 yr OK, moved the config out of the /boot/config folder, rebooted, re-filled in the entries, clicked "Test Email"--and....nothing I kept everything default, just used smtp.gmail.com, and tried both SSL with port 465, and No SSL with port 587. Used the same email for to/from, also. I get email notifications through ssmtp though, every day.
June 6, 201115 yr Author Of the config screen if possible. I want to see relation between settings page & config to see if any fields are missing. If too much hassle, don't worry.
June 6, 201115 yr just started testing the new version have been on 4.x for over 6 months and thought time to start testing... and i could not have said it any better myself.. Nice work by the way! the new gui really makes unRAID look professional. thanks for all the hard work, look forward to the v5 final with your extensions...
June 9, 201115 yr Author Change Log Combined SimpleFeatures with new webGui. Updated webGui with some sexy new CSS. Progress iframe now pops up from bottom, making it easier to find. Removed Cache Drive from Stats totals. Updated unMenu conf file. See first post for details Give me feedback
June 9, 201115 yr Nice... and the php error I was getting in the last version is resolved. Thanks again.
June 13, 201115 yr WOW i just accidently read this topic. My god this unraid GUY is truly amaaaaaazing! Very nice done! I'm still running 4.7 (like many others i think) and always tought that updating to 5 wasnt necessary yet, but when i see this now, i'm doubting if i should jump to it right now or wait till version 5.0 has gone out of beta. Will this gui be the main gui for the upcoming 5.0? When is 5.0 coming? In a couple of weeks, months or years? Really nice made, and it has some good things added! Very nice done. What other improvements are there between 4.7 and the beta?
June 13, 201115 yr Will this gui be the main gui for the upcoming 5.0? Probably not, though we may be surprised When is 5.0 coming? In a couple of weeks, months or years? No one really knows, save for maybe Lime-Tech itself. What other improvements are there between 4.7 and the beta? Have a look through the announcements forum to see what all has changed. There is quite a bit and to much to list in this thread. This thread is for discussion of the SimpleFeature and webGUI package speeding_ant has put together.
June 14, 201115 yr Hi, Many thanks for excelet improvement to unRaid. Tom should seriously consider making this default feature. I just wanted to report a little bug (or sort of). When using this GUI on iPad (safari), status line (one which says "array started" is not dynamically moved with page scroll, it actually keeps initial position (stays fixed on page) and scrolls with the page. I have noticed this misbehaviour on some other public Internet pages, so it might be not a bug of plugin, but general iPad/Safari problem. Regards
June 14, 201115 yr Author Hey P13, That's actually built into the plugin, it's a fixed bar via CSS. As status updates (like when you are formatting a drive) fade in at the bottom, it's nice not to have to search for it on the page, rather it's there at the bottom. Previously they'd show up at the bottom of any given page, so tried to ad some consistency! *edit* Sorry just re-read your post. Do you mean it still scrolls up with the page, but blocks other content? Cheers
June 15, 201115 yr Thanks for the updates, it's really nice to see it all integrated. I'm not having any success in using the smtp emailer, any hints ? I got everything configured and when I do a click "send test" the button stays on "Sending" the status label says email sent yet however I never get any mail (yes I checked my spam).
June 15, 201115 yr Author It won't work unless there is a valid DNS server in the unRAID network settings. Please make sure there is something set up there before trying again. If there is one set and it still isn't working, make sure unRAID can resolve domain names. In a telnet session, type hostname -i *your.smtp.server.com* See if that brings back an IP address. If it does, then I'll take a further look into it. Cheers!
June 19, 201115 yr Author I've made a modal system for my webGUI, very simple. Here's a sneak preview of a new feature. What do you think...?
June 19, 201115 yr ...And I was just settling for the "Simple Features" eye-candy supreme. Please make my order super sized... just love those double-dip scoops of Simple Features supreme.
June 19, 201115 yr Author Cheers! This is on the cards for the next release: Modal the realtime syslog Modal for system info System info page, which is kind of like Apple system profiler. Except uglier, because there are no easy tools to grab this information nicely. Change email notifications to SSMTP, with separate page for editing SMTP details. This lays the groundwork for UPS notifications etc using SSMTP without additional configuration.
June 19, 201115 yr I found a small bug in your stats page. Disk1 Disk2 Disk3 Disk4 Disk5 Disk19 Disk20 I Decided to try a test and see if i can future proof my shares.. I already had disks1-4 as media and 5 for "backups" The first 4 drives and the media share was now bleeding onto disk5. I also have about 8TB more to place in the Media share this week. I decided to place the next two drives as 19 and 20 and move my "backups" share to those 2. I was then going to assign 15-18 next for another share as soon as my preclears complete. Filling in 6-14 with more drives for the "media" share as needed. Then again, I'm not 100% sure unRAID even supports this, but it seems to be working fine.
June 19, 201115 yr Author Ah good point - I should do a check to see if they're in the array before trying to calculate a size that hasn't been recorded yet. Cheers for finding that
June 20, 201115 yr Author Moved to shadowbox for Modals. Heavily modified CSS and removed a few bugs to stop event logs etc from showing in Firefox & IE.
