SMB transfer issues from macOS

Featured Replies

Hello! I'm attempting to make a switch from a Windows PC to a MacBook Pro as my primary workstation at home. I use my home Unraid server to backup files etc via SMB shares. Unfortunately I am having issues getting SMB shares to work correctly via macOS.

When connected to SMB share via macOS 12.2.1 I was able to view (and open) files without issue. When attempting to transfer a small file from macOS file system to the Unraid share via SMB the transfer attempts to start, and then hangs. Shortly after the SMB connection to the server drops (and perhaps all connections?). I dumped the attached diagnostic data just after this happened.

I’ve previously enabled Enhanced macOS interoperability in Unraid’s SMB settings page.

Before enabling that option, file transfers would not work from macOS and I would be given a permissions error (read/write permissions for my smb user are set correctly for this share).

Is there something I'm missing or a resource I can use to assist with this issue? Referring to the VFS_FRUIT MAN PAGE as Unraid suggests wasn't much help for me.

Thanks for your assistance!
