Factory Reset of Unraid Server

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I`m new to Unraid and set up my server as suggested by Spaceinvader one. It worked well. But as I moved the System folder to an NVME some Docker container stopped working entirely. It is MariaDB and Nextcloud. I cannot get Nextcloud to work anymore. I uninstalled and reinstalled all containers. Deleted the appdata via command line. Restarted the server. Deleted the docker image. Nothing worked. I cannot get a fresh install of these containers.

Then I backed up all the data I have and tried to reset the entire server. I found that option under tools. But it does not affect plugins or docker.

Is there a way the "factory reset" the server? I`m happy with losing all data. I just don`t want to lose my paid licence or change the usb drive.

Thank you for your help!

Back up the flash drive, delete everything in the config folder except the license key.

That won't directly erase any of the data or pool drives, but it will reset the rest of the configurations. If you want the data and pool drives empty you will need to format them as well.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Firstly I formated my cache drives. Then I shut the server down and backed up the USB-drive. Pluged into my PC I deleted the content of the config folder. I only left the KEY file in there.

Then I put it back in the server. The boot runs through, I can see the assigend IP-Adress on the screen. But going to the IP adress I cannot connect to the server. What could went wrong? When I load all the files back on the USB drive the server starts. But I still have the issues with Nextcloud and MariaDB.

Try completely redoing the flash drive, the same way you set it up to begin with, and copy the license key file into the config folder.

Thank you. That worked perfectly!
