[SOLVED] Bridging unraid server to pc problem

Featured Replies

I'm in an unsual situation as my option of connecting my unraid server directly to my router is unavailable.

I'm trying to bridge my unraid server to my pc using LAN.  I can talk to the server by typing in the server IP, however I cannot use //tower to connect.

I'm also unable to get the server to download the unmenu packages.

I'm running 4.7 and have the DNS filled in.

Am I missing something?

What do you mean by bridging using LAN? My PC and server do not connect through a router but there is an Ethernet switch in-between. This is a typical configuration. Is this what you mean?

Is that what I'm missing?  A switch?

My PC is connected to the internet using a wireless USB modem.  I'm trying to connect the unraid server to my PC through my PC's empty ethernet port.

Then I went into network and sharing to bridge the wireless and LAN together.  Is this the improper way?

Apologize for my ignorance....

That should work depending on the PC OS. You should be able to share the connection from the wireless interface to computers on the Ethernet interface. "Bridging" is technically something else and won't work.
