March 3, 20224 yr Hi all - I'm setting up my first Unraid server and I can't get my SAS drives to show up. Build specs: Asrock Z690 Phantom Gaming 4 with BIOS 6.03 i7-12700K 9205-8i HBA card In the BIOS, I currently have: Under BIOS > Advanced, I have PCI Link Speeds set to Gen 3 DMI Link. Speed set to Gen 3 Disabled Above 4G Decoding, Clever access memory, VT-d, SR-IOV support CSM enabled in BIOS > Boot and have messed around with a combination of enabling "UEFI Boot only" for the PXE OpROM, Storage OpROM, and other PCI OpROM policy options under BIOS > Boot > CSM menu. Repeated this again by placing the HBA card in the second PCI x16 slot. GT710 was detected in both PCI x16 slots. I also disabled fast boot but haven't found anything else to try. No matter what I've done, I haven't been able to get any drives detected under Main tab > Array Devices. I've attached the diagnostic output from Unraid. My head hurts from banging it on the desk so I would appreciate any suggestions or tips. Thanks in advance! kellyridge-diagnostics-20220302-2125.zip Edited March 3, 20224 yr by gnawhsy
March 3, 20224 yr Community Expert You mention BIOS but don't actually say if the drives are seen in BIOS
March 3, 20224 yr Community Expert HBA is failing to initialize: Mar 2 18:25:15 kellyridge kernel: mpt2sas_cm0: port enable: FAILED with timeout (timeout=300s) You should upgrade the firmware since it's very old, can also try a different PCIe slot if available.

Thanks, @JorgeB@trurl. It was a bad HBA card. Replaced it with a new one and it's been smooth sailing so far.
