March 7, 20224 yr Hey all, I am running a ryzen build with the following components : Asrock Rack X570D4U motherboard with the kingston 32gb RAM sticks on the motherboard QVL list. Ryzen 5950x My issue seems very specific to unraid. On post for Windows/Ubuntu I receive the debug code AA on this motherboard which indicates all is well. However when I boot up in Unraid it indicates code "FF" I have tried upgrading bios/ BMC, cmos reset, different ram, tried install a fresh unraid beta 6.10. Now online there is some huge debate on what FF means it means "fault fount" or "fully functional" or something else but the asrock motherboard manual doesnt have this code explicitly listed so its a crap shoot. I am wondering if anyone with this mobo and Ryzen 9 cpu has seen this type of issue. It seems mostly cosmectic since all OS seem to boot up and work fine. I have not had this system for longer than a week so not sure about the long term impact. Any ideas?
July 20, 20223 yr I am having the identical thing happen on the same board. Everything runs perfectly so I lean towards "Fully Functional" I suppose. It is weird though as it should be AA.
July 21, 20223 yr I think it's not an acronym at all. Simply the higher hexadecimal two digit value. (00 => FF) From my understanding, it is generally the value at the end of the boot process. Of course, different manufacturers could manage that differently, but my Supermicro board starts at 00 and increment the counter along the boot process then reachs FF.
