March 8, 20224 yr I've got this 256GB ssd that SMART reports as failing. I'll attach a screen shot from CrystalDiskInfo. Would it be a horrible idea to use it as a second cache drive or something? Edited March 8, 20224 yr by dkerlee
March 9, 20224 yr From what I see, it's not actually bad yet, just written so heavily the manufacturer thinks it's close to wearing out. I'd hesitate to call it "safe", but I'd personally use it for low value data like transcoding temp space as long as the speed was still ok.
