Can't access 3 hdds including parity, need help ASAP!

Featured Replies

woke up this morning to 3 of my hdds on my array giving no access.  1 is a parity drive and the other 2 are where all my media is stored.  i can't see them in shared, but i can see them on the dashboard and the main tabs and healthy and 75% usage.  the 3 hdds show up under unassigned devices, but have a greyed out section saying array.

fix common problems gives me, "Drive mounted read-only or completely full." and none of my shares are showing to be able to access the data.

please help as i am new to unraid and i dont know what to do to ensure i dont lose data and can get my server back to normal.

i have attached screenshots for reference.

in addition, i added the tools/diagnostic file i downloaded.

Multiple disks dropped offline at the same time (then reconnected), this suggests a power/connection problem, see if they share anything in common, then reboot and post new diags after array start.

thanks jorgeB, really appreciate you.  working on rebooting it right now.

Too simple but you aren’t using a breakout cable from mini sas card are you?

  • Author

no, full regular sas cable from array to server.  looks like it booted back up and i can see everything, but the docker says its corrupted now.  so trying to find the link i saw in the forum on how to replace the docker.

Docker is not working because the pool is completely full:

    Free (statfs, df): 260.00KiB

Just move/delete some data and restart the service.

i followed space invaders yt vid and increased the docker image size, deleted the docker image and re-enabled.  damn i might have made this worse.  let me move some data also.  right now trying to figure out how to re-enable my docker again.

thanks jorgeB, new to this.

it didnt recreate the docker image in the system folder.  how can i recreate this docker image so it can be enabled?  says i have 10g free of space.  i bumped my docker image to 30g, should i make it more?

  • Author

also,  between the yt vid and another thread i removed the docker image and went to apps, prev apps, and it wont let me install the apps. gives me this error.

Docker Service Not Enabled - Only Plugins Available To Be Installed Or Managed

ok update, i did a move, then i just restarted the docker and it worked.  now im installing apps again.

maybe i should set up the schedule differently w/ the move so this doesnt happen again?  or, right now i havfe 500g on my cache ssd, should i go to a 1tb to avoid his problem?

  • Community Expert

You need to adjust mover settings or increase capacity to avoid the pool getting completely full.

Depends on the problem, if it doesn't appear in the VM page you can restore libvirt.img assuming there's a backup, if not re-create the VM and point to the same vdisk.

thanks jorgeB, really appreciate this.  im going to try the VM restore, etc later.  my friend helped me set that part up so not sure if we have a back up or not.

jorgeB, im going to be doing the VM stuff tonight since i have free time.  question, i noticed why my cache drive pool is filled.  theres is a file called "syslog-192.168.1.224.log.1" and that is over 300g out of 500g of space and why i can't move anything else.  what is this file for?  can i move it, delete it, etc?  i have 2 in there but the other syslog doesnt have .1 at the end and is 6.25kb.  should i replace the small one w/ this one?

Likely from the syslog server, check settings or disable if not needed, and delete the files.

thanks.  i dont see the settings as an issue when i checked it out.  im going to delete it.
