Nath2125
would anyone be able to review the .zip files from diagnostics and see what the problem might be? I just upgraded motherboard and cpu and replaced the ram i had with before. so not sure if that was it, but interms of any new changes thats the only one i know of mediaserver-diagnostics-20220312-1217.zip Quote Link to comment
Squid
Perfectly safe to ignore. During cpu initialization the mce was issued. Happens on certain hardware combinations and nothing to fret about Quote Link to comment
Nath2125
I was talking with someone else and they reckoned there was a possible ram error or something like a piece of hardware was faulty during startup? Is that true or from what ur saying all good just need to ignore it? Quote Link to comment
Squid
Without an explicit mce happening during normal use (yours didn't) or specifying RAM (yours didn't) it happened during a probable microcode update and is no problem Quote Link to comment
Nath2125
Ok cool, just another quick question at one point I did attempt to run memtest to see if that was an issue and it seems to boot cycle so like when I clicked on it went blank then went back to unraid boot drive options again and just kept doing that. Not sure if that’s just me usb or my system but thought it was werid. I did also have to remove the “-“ from the efi folder in order for it to boot cause it wasn’t before that not sure if that had anything to do with the memtest thing Quote Link to comment
Squid
Temporarily switch the boot order to boot via the USB by legacy and not UEFI (or hit F12 (or whatever key it is) to manually select legacy boot) Quote Link to comment
itimpi
If you want a memtest that will work with UEFI boot mode you need to download it from the memtest86.org site. The one shipped with Unraid only works in legacy boot mode. Quote Link to comment
