Move an M.2 to different slot

Featured Replies

Hi. I have an M.2 in slot no. 2 on my MB. I want to move it to slot no. 1, which is faster. (I used no. 2 because I was able to run with 2 GPUs; now I don't want to use the second GPU, because it's giving me too many issues).

Is it possible to move the M.2 to a different slot without issues on the same MB, or are some actions required? This is my main cache drive where I host appdata, dockers, and VMs.

Not enough info given.  Motherboard model? CPU? SATA or NVMe M.2 device?

MB: ASRock B450 Pro 4, it has: 6 SATA3, 1 Ultra M.2 (PCIe Gen3 x4), 1 M.2 (PCIe Gen3 x2 & SATA3). I want to move NVMe from the last port to the Ultra port.

CPU: Ryzen 5 2400G

PNY 500GB NVMe M.2

You just need to change slot, nothing else.
