davemoreton
I don't know why I do this to myself! lol Right, so after a long wait my new case finally arrived. This is the case: https://www.servercase.co.uk/shop/server-cases/rackmount/4u-chassis/4u-server-case-w-16-x-35-hot-swappable-satasas-drive-bays-6gbs-minisas-+-2-x-525-bays-sc-4316/ One of the main differences was the hard drives are going to SAS cables, everything seemed to go ok until I powered up and found no drives attached. I have the hard drives split over 2x ASMedia ASM1166 cards and some on the motherboard, none are showing, not even the one on the motherboard. Do I need special SAS cables? the drives blue power lights up but no activity, so the back pain has power. Thanks Dave Quote Link to comment
davemoreton
Think I've worked out why this is not working, it's not a reverse cable Quote Link to comment
