No hard drives after case change

Right, so after a long wait my new case finally arrived. This is the case:

One of the main differences was the hard drives are going to SAS cables, everything seemed to go ok until I powered up and found no drives attached. I have the hard drives split over 2x ASMedia ASM1166 cards and some on the motherboard, none are showing, not even the one on the motherboard.

 

Do I need special SAS cables? the drives blue power lights up but no activity, so the back pain has power.
