SFF Build - Case, Motherboard recommendation needed

Featured Replies

Hello,

so what I would like to do is a SFF Build I really only need 2x3.5 drives maybe 3 but technically 2 would be enough. I want the build to be small.

What I currently already have is an SFX power supply, 2x 4TB 3.5 WD Red Nas drives, WD Black SN750 1TB NVME SSD, but I have nothing else. No case (which is a big struggle because I really need it to be small and then going from there motherboard etc.

i originally thought of using something like the Coolermaster nr200 but that really only has 1x true 3.5 HDD Bay and is maybe not ideal.

My use case is backups, docker and would like to run ubuntu vm (maybe win10vm but not dead set on that).

Any recommendations?

Ok, I think after a longer back and forth with myself I have decided to go with a fractal design node 304. There are smaller cases out there but really that one seems to give me the most flexibility.

Now for Motherboard and Processor a quick question, I was thinking about potentially getting a Ryzen 5600g but only if I can passthrough the iGPU to a VM. I looked a little and from all I can tell that should be possible. Can anyone confirm that?
