[SOLVED] [5.0 beta 6a] Disk Spindown

Featured Replies

Like others my disks are not spinning down after the set amount of time.   Disk spindown manually without problem.   Any solutions to this or is this a known problem?

I put my discs in spin groups and they spin down fine.  Each disc is in it's own group.

What drive controllers are you using? IBM BR10i?

Using 5.0 beta 6 my discs would not spin down when set to default. Changed the setting on each individual drive to 15 mins (the default setting) and they worked fine after that. Should have probably reported it but just fixed the problem and moved on.

These are just the onboard controllers of my motherboard an ASUS M4A785-M which uses the AMD 785G/SB710 chipset.  I'll give spingroups a try.  I tried changing the spindown delay times and that didn't solve  it.

Only spin groups worked for me.  I wasn't sure if that was by design or a bug, but I tried it and it worked.

Assigning each drive to a spinup group worked for me.  Wierd.

Could please someone point me out where to find the spingroups in 5.0-beta6a?

Is in in unMenu? Or the normal WebGUI? Where to find it?

Click on the disk name on the main page in the web-gui.

unMENU does no configuration.  You'll never find anything there except reporting utilities.

In the standard interface - on the 'Main' tab.  Clicking on the device name (disk1, disk2 etc) takes you to the 'Settings' page for that device.

Great thanks for the fast reply.

Can i fill in any Name into the field Spindup Group or can it be only numbers?

any name.  those with the same name will spin up together when any with the same name are accessed.
