Upgrade from 6.10 RC2 to 6.10 RC4 cache pool unmountable

I have tried upgrading from RC2 to RC3 and now RC4 with a dual cache drive pool. 

 

After rebooting and starting the array I get Unmountable: Invalid Pool config.  If I restore back to RC2 everything starts and works normally.  Any ideas or suggestions?

Problem is caused by only having one array disk with btrfs, this makes parity appear to have a valid btrfs filesystem and generates an error during device scan:

 

Mar 22 10:59:47 RizzoUnraid emhttpd: /mnt/cache_ssd ERROR: cannot scan /dev/sdl1: Input/output error

 

Though strange that it doesn't happen with rc2, in any case best way forward to avoid this now and in the future is to either have more btrfs arrays disks on convert disk10 to xfs like the rest.

• backup the data
• stop the Array
• change the file system
• start the Array
• format
• get your data back to the pool

Of course, XFS is only available for pools with a single member.

What if I have 3 cache drives as a pool under btrfs and I'm getting the "unmountable: Invalid pool config"?

This is a known issue when there's only one assigned btrfs array drive, it creates an invalid btrfs filesystem on parity that confuses the pool, workaround is to convert that disk to xfs like the other ones, add more btrfs array devices or if you want one but only one btrfs array device use encrypted btrfs.

When I go to the cache -> file system type: -> options are only auto, btrfs, btrfs - encripted

is there another way of changing the file system?

Problem is not with cache, it's the single btrfs array disk, disk5, that's the one that should be converted to XFS or encrypted btrfs, note that both require formatting the disk, i.e., all data there will be lost.
