Logging in without credentials

Featured Replies

I just finished building my first UNRAID system. I can't seem to find the setting I need for having a secure login from another PC. I can simply type in the IP of the tower and the GUI pops up,, on any other PC on my network. It does not ask for a name and password. What am I doing wrong with the security on the UNRAID PC?  Thanks.

Have you set a root password?

No I have not. That is the issue?

I created a password and now there is a login screen for me to use on a remote machine. Thank you. I see that the mapped share on my laptop still works. Should Windows be asking me for credentials to allow access to that mapped drive now too?

I misspoke. The mapped drive should be my user account, not root. Thanks again.

Only root user has access to the webUI and command line. Other user accounts can only be used for network access to shares. Each share has settings that control the type of access each user has. Each share has public access unless you set otherwise.
