Unmountable: No pool uuid

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I recently acquired 2 3.84TB Samsung PM1633 MZILS3T8HCJM SAS drives I want to use for my Cache Pool, but I'm having trouble adding them.   I can select them in the Cache Drive dropdown, but when I start the array it just says "Unmountable: No pool uuid".   I tried setting the filesystem to 'auto' with a single drive, but still get the error.   I've attached the SMART reports but I don't know what they are saying.

I'm using a LSI-9201-16e card, and a Xeon E5-2660 system.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

When you started the array after assigning the drives did you run the option to format unmountable disks?

No, I just tried to assign the drives and start the array initially.  When that didn’t work I stopped the array, unassigned the second drive, set the file system to auto, and started the array again.

Ok - the drive will not be mountable until you have run format on it.
