Shares disappearing

Featured Replies

My install has been running fine for a while. Just recently upgraded the parity to 14TB and replaced a 4TB with the old 12TB parity.
I also moved my docker image and app data to the cache drive.

It was after that I noticed that after a while (usually seems to be overnight) my shares disappear. Data is still all there, but things like Plex/etc can't seem to access it. As well as SMB shares.

Oh and a restart fixes it just fine.

Google wasn't much help, so I'm posting here

Diags are just after rebooting, so not much to see.

So need to get them after it happens next time before I reboot?
Or is there a way to get them further back?

Only if you have the syslog server enable.

Log is spammed by the mover and because of that there's time missing, disable mover logging and post new diags next time.

Hopefully this is more helpful...

It is:

Apr 2 17:31:09 fileserver kernel: XFS (md1): Please umount the filesystem and rectify the problem(s)

Check filesystem on disk1

Thanks, I've done that.

Is there a good test for the drive to see if it is the issue and needs to be replaced?

Run an extended SMART test. You might have to disable spindown for the drive for a time so it can complete.

Then you can attach your new diagnostics so we can have a look.

Just jumping in here as I experienced all of my Shares disappearing as well about 10 minutes ago. No logs saved unfortunately.

Without diagnostics taken after this has happened (and before rebooting) it will not be possible to do anything other than guess ar the cause.

Indeed, the drive seems good. :)
