[SOLVED] Bifurcation Explaination and stuff...ie..I am confused.

Recommended Posts

Hello...please help. My brain is mush.

Motherboard: Supermicro X9DRL-iF

HBA: PCIe x8 LSI 9211-8i (IT mode) (inserted into Slot 6, closest to the CPU)

In Unraid DiskSpeed Container, it shows the controller is set at 4x link speed:

Here's my BIOS settings:

Do I have my settings correct? Documentation on the HBA says it is a PCIe 2.0 x8 card...so why can't it connect at x8?

Then the other odd thing is that my HBA is a SAS2 controller. Why is unraid loading SAS3 drivers?

Please advise.

This is the same as my system

M/B: Supermicro X9DR3-F Version 0123456789 -

BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. Version 3.3. Dated: 07/12/2018

CPU: Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2697 v2 @ 2.70GHz

I have onboard SAS and LSI 9207-8i with same drivers.

I just realized that my BIOS isn't as current as yours. Need to fix that.
