Gosi
Hello unraid community, I am new to Unraid and have a problem. My Windows 10 VM is always black and white and as soon as I install the virtio driver and the VM connects to the internet it doesn't take long before the VM crashes and won't boot. i think it's the graphics driver windows is trying to install but buggy windows won't let me do much as it runs very slow. The log is immediately full, the last and the first error log entry happened at the same second. i tried every possible combination, Q35 + Ovmf, 1440 + ovmf, q35 seabios, 1440 seabios. Seabios is the only one that works, but with q35 and with 1440, but no matter what I do the error always comes back. If I put the 3090 as 2nd GPU in the motherboard and put another one in the 1st slot the gpu passthrough works (even with color) and the GPU is also recognized in Windows in the device manager. If I do it only with the 3090 the error comes back. I have a vbios stored in the XML that shows up in the normal settings now. please, i need help from some experts, thanks IOMMU and AMD-V are active The buggy black and white windows: Buggy Windows.mp4 My Hardware: asus rog strix x570-f gaming Ryzen 5900X RTX 3090 Zotac Trinity, the GPU slot is 0b:00:00 and audio 0b:00:01 32 GB Corsair 3600 Mhz Ram SSD: I tried it with an WD SN 850 and a cheapo € 25 Intenso 240 GB SSD Unraid version: 6.9.2 The log log entry: The entry Apr 6 17:03:18 UNRAID-SRV01 kernel: vfio-pci 0000:0b:00.0: BAR 1: can't reserve [mem 0x7000000000-0x77ffffffff 64bit pref] then repeats until the VM dies. ghost82
Yes, probably that memory adresses were in use by efifb: that commands disables efi framebuffer (efifb), so you can pass it. It's an alternative to video=efifb:off kernel argument. Edited April 13, 2022 by ghost82 1 Quote Link to comment
