Newbie Here - Help me complete my build..

Featured Replies

I was interested in having a NAS when i cam across synology. It was nice and simple. Like many other tech enthusiast , i wanted to build my own.

So far , i have (mostly used products)

1. Motherboard - B450M PRO-VDH PLUS

2. PSU - 650W Cossair

3. RAM - 16GB GSKILL 3000mhz cl16

4. CASE - Fractal NODE 804

My Need :

1. File storage and personal files backup. I am planning to have 4TB of my storage for my personal files backup with appropriate RAID setup

Add in more HDD for media and other files .

2. Ability to run Pi-hole , Home assistant , VM`s , possible Plex Server for my Himedia Q5 Pro( or Nvidia Shield in future).

3. Have Some TB`s of Old and New Music Files in FLAC format. So want them to be served at will to all my family members and move away from spotify or be as a second option. (how to do it on android ? any specific app ?)

4. Remotely backup my business database and files to this NAS at regular intervals as secondary backup.

5. Stream movies / Tv shows which i have in my HDD to all my family members , either in same network or when away from home.

6. Run Linux distros for me to learn linux.

Now , which CPU should i go for ? I have limited budget only.. about 150-200$.

Should i get a dedicated AMD CPU and get a cheaper GPU or Go for G series AMD CPU`s ?
