Will this work with SAS drives.

I am in the process of parting together an unRAID server and was wondering if this setup would work:

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650W 80+ Gold 120-GP-0650-X1

[PSU]

(https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Warranty-120-GP-0650-X1/dp/B0797CDK7J/ref=sr_1_7?crid=LM1WIVH0Y7ZI&keywords=650w+gold&qid=1650172382&sprefix=650w+gold%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-7)

HBA: DELL Perc H200

2x SFF-8087 to 4 SFF-8482

[SFF cables]

(https://www.ebay.com/itm/363102688403?hash=item548a9b5493:g:iBAAAOSwy0VfWmPu)

And finally the hard drives:

8x Seagate ST3000NM0023 3TB SAS HHD

I have one final question. This is expandable to 12 drives pretty quickly, however, power becomes an issue. I am relatively new to reading PSU power tables, and I am not sure if I can buy SATA splitters to connect more hard drives, or if there is a different way to power the drives.

I attached the link to the PSU I am using, and some extra numbers about each hard drive:

[Seagate Info Sheet](https://www.seagate.com/www-content/product-content/constellation-fam/constellation-es/constellation-es-3/_shared/docs/constellation-es-3-ds1769-3-1502gb.pdf)

Idling Power (W) --> 6.74

Typical Operating, Random Read (W) --> 10.72

All help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

it'll work as long as you flash the perc h200 to IT mode

Any reason you are using 3tb sas drives? If you are buying them, you would be much better off buying 10tb sas drives. There is an ebay listing for $99 for used 10tb hgst sas drives

I’m using 3TB drives to start off with, since they were less than $3/TB. Eventually they are going to be larger. Thanks for your help!

You will need to install the SAS Spin down plugin if you want them to spin down. Not all SAS drives behave correctly.

Here is the support page for doran's plugin
