Drives on new sata card asm1166 not recognized

Featured Replies

So, I just build a brand new unraid server.
Motherboard has 6 SATA slots, and with disks connected to the motherboard, everything works OK.

Motherboard is brand new Socket 1700 MSI - PRO Z690-A WIFI (MS-7D25) with a i7 12700K intel cpu and 64GB ram.

I then bought a PCI-E 4x 3.0 Sata card, and no disks shows up.

I have tried all PCI slots, but no dice.

I've also set all pci slots to AUTO in bios.

I bought two of these, and none of them works, so HW failure on two cards are unlikely.

I've attached Diagnostics.

I really don't know what more to try.

Controller is not being detected, they are not working or there's some compatibility issue with that board, if you have a different PC available test it there.

I know this is really late, but there appears to be an issue with the ASM1166 and the Z690 motherboard.  There are a few forum posts / reviews that outline a fix.  Basically there is a firmware that can be applied to make the asm1166 work with z690 chipset.
