Native USB Shucked disks :(

Featured Replies

I have several mypassport WD disks which I had planned to use in unraid.

Sadly I've found they are native USB3. Is there such a thing as a caddy that takes a USB3 drive, that you can connect a SATA cable to? Trying to find something with Google is just a nightmare as every suggestion is the other way around!

Not that I'm aware of.

Your best bet if you must use USB mass storage with Unraid is to use them as single device pools, so the random disconnects will hopefully not cause data loss. USB devices in the parity protected array are a huge headache.

Ok, thanks. What about the physical connectivity - any way of using them in a hotswap bay?
