May 13, 201115 yr SO just testing the waters, I am running airvideo and ps3media server and finding that the Sempron 140 just isnt up to snuff, maybe going to go with a nice dual core phenom. To offset the cost thinking of selling my Sempron for $32 shipped to offset the cost of the new processor. Comes with all original packaging and unused fan/heatsink as I used an aftermarket cooler. Thanks.

Thanks. I wouldn't normally recommend this for a sever, but you can unlock the 2nd core in the 140 pretty easily as long as your motherboard supports that feature.
May 13, 201115 yr Author Newegg feedback says core unlock for this particular proc is hit or miss, rather sell one in near new condition than try and unlock and muck up the works you know?
May 17, 201115 yr This is a perfect chip for a server. It runs stock unRAID easily. Do not unlock the second core unless you want to risk your data.
