Out Of Memory Errors even when not out of memory

My server has started randomly throwing OOM errors despite its being under 80%. I have 32GB total and I have the Disk Cache settings set as:

Disk Cache 'vm.dirty_background_ratio' (%): 10

Disk Cache 'vm.dirty_ratio' (%): 20

Is lowering them the best solution or do I have a different issue?
