No docker and VM´s after replace old cache disks

Featured Replies

Hi,

I replaced my single cache disk with two disks/raid1 and now Docker and VM configuration is missing, no docker and no VM´s.

I used the following instruction  https://forums.unraid.net/topic/100306-solved-cache-austauschen-vorgehensweise/

Docker data and VM data are available but it seem to be available.

Two things which may be reason for this issue.

The Array was set to autostart and started after reboot without cache drive active.

Any tips what I can do ?

Regards,

Guido

With Docker and VM Manager disabled in Settings, set appdata, domains, system shares to cache-prefer, run mover, wait for it to complete, post new diagnostics.

From my Symcon docker I had a backup and risked to build new container . Checked if appdata is on cache and not on array, then added new container with the previous  Symcon template.

it is now working again.

Now I will look for data of my VMs

VMs working

same way, checked if data only on cache, enable VM, config new W10 VMs, used existing Disk image, need some tries to find out correct disk driver and bios.

Your appdata share has files on the array. Nothing can move open files, so you will have to disable Docker in Settings then run Mover to get those moved to cache.

Also, Mover won't move duplicates, so you may have to figure out which to keep. Probably those on cache are the currently used files, but maybe those on the array are what you really need to get things like they were before.
