i can remount the usb stick after einserting and checking name with dmesg

but it goes weird again with the FAT read errors

put the drive on my windows machine and run scandisk with no errors

put the drive back in my unraid do a clean shutdown

restart machine and all is well again

just wondering what can cause this ?

do i need to ask for a new license for a new key ?

Try running memtest to test out your RAM.  Run it for at least 12 hours.  Your array will have to be down the whole time.  Bad RAM can cause flash drive errors.
