How big is the performance difference between using /mnt/user and /mnt/cache?

Currently all of my dockers are setup to use /mnt/user/whatever, should i change those over to using /mnt/cache instead? And if so, how much of a difference does this make to performance?

    I'm sure a synthetic test would show a difference.  In terms of something you would notice, probably not any.
