May 23, 20224 yr Hi, Apologies if this is a stupid question but thought best to ask, Im about to upgrade my server from a Fractal Node 804 to a Fractal Design 7 XL because ive somehow managed to run out of space with my 10 drives in there that are all 10TB and I have 6 x 8TB just sat doing nothing. Thought it would be much more cost effective to just upgrade the case for one that can hold more drives. The issue I now have is that I am running a B365M with 6 SATA ports and a cheap and lousy sata controller that i am going to replace, so need the extra capacity. I run my server headless so all my PCI-E slots are unused. Is there any issue with me running 2 4X 6 port ASM1166 Sata controllers, one in the 4X port and one in the 16x Port? I have very little experience apart from building my server the first time round so not got to grips with LSI cards or anything yet. Any help appreciated. Cheers
