Possibility to show individual interface names on Dashboard instead of e.g. eth0

On the Dashboard of interface settings youn can set an interface name. This name I would like to see on the main dashboard in interface section instead of eth0, eth1, etc..
Is this possible in general with an option, I don't know. Or is it a feature/display bug?
