NFS Auto Mounts in OSX 10.6 with UR 4.7 Questions

Featured Replies

I'm trying to work out using NFS shares in OS X. I've attached two screen captures that show where I am. I've been spending quite a bit of time trying to figure out what to put in the "Export (NFS):" field but I am pretty stuck. If someone could review my screen captures and let me know what I'm missing I would really appreciate it. Also my getting the NFS mounts dialogue in OS X computer correctly? Many thanks.

Remote NFS URL: nfs://tower/mnt/user/Backup OR nfs://10.0.1.37/mnt/user/Backup

Mount location: /Volumes/Backup

You should mount all your volumes under /Volumes/, for consistency at least.  And just name it the same as your unRAID share.

Note for Mac users: OS X users will need to use the following export options, otherwise the shares will not mount: [4] (You may need to restart your server.)

*(rw,insecure)

Fast reply, thank you. This will keep me busy for a while.  I think I can work with this, very helpful.

I also noticed that you have nfs configured for 'disk shares' but not for 'user shares', but you are trying to mount the user share (Backup). I think you need to add (or move) your *(rw,insecure) to the nfs spot in the user share.
