May 19, 201115 yr I would like to be able to access the files on my unRAID from other places like work and friends houses and the ever important parents houses, but do it in a secure manner. I see that logmein hamachi2 has options and there is even a thread on this forum (linky) but I just wanted to know if there is a better way to do this securely? some software I have neaver heard of or maybe something already built into unRAID, or even just a more concise version of that thread that just walks through the current version?
May 19, 201115 yr So you want to stream the files, or download them to where ever you are? I doubt you just want to list the files you have, but I can see the purpose for that also (when I'm loading up a friends house, I want to see what I have and don't have) There is AjaXplorer built into unRAID Web, but I'm sure you could re-install it separately with an SSL connection, but then we're back to opening up the server over the web--but at least there would be SSL involved, but I'm not sure if that helps against attacks. I'm going to install Hamachi2 though, and see what I think of that. Probably need to upgrade my memory from 2 to 4GB since it's starting to fill up.

May 20, 201115 yr Take a look at J. River Media Center: Media Network Wiki. It might do what you want and more. This is a windows only software.
