High amounts of writes to Share and Parity using "arrs", is that usual?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

really not sure if this is the right spot for this if not please let me know where i should be posting.

I've recently upgraded my server and decided now was the time to move my "arrs" from my windows machine and run them on docker within unraid. I've set that all up and its working fine. I also added a 1TB SSD to my system and assigned that to be the cache drive where any and all downloads go from sabnzbd and then the relevant "arr" moves them to the array once download and unpacking is completed. The Download folder is set to use "only" cache.

The issue im having is for say 20-25gb of download, im getting 27500 writes to my cache drive but 3,000,000 reads and writes to the array on the relevant drive and then to the dual parity as well. is this normal, seems to be a really really high amount for such a small amount of files.

Ive checked the relevant drive and there is no leakage of the download folder, the download folder shows as only been active on the Cache.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
