Preconfigured flash no longer working as expected

Featured Replies

Since last September, I've been running unraid from a preconfigured flash drive without any issue.  Today, I had to shut down the server, and when I tried to restart it, the server displays "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key."  I have configured the server to boot from the USB drive first (its actually the only drive in the boot list right now), and the drive is being recognized by the bios.  I even checked the ASUS bios updater app to see if it could see any files on the drive, and it could.  Thinking that this was probably a case of a messed up boot sector, I tossed the drive into a different computer to see if it would boot there, and it did.  So now I have a preconfigured flash drive that has worked for the past 8 months on one server failing there, but working everywhere else.  I'm going to continue messing with the bios boot settings, since that is what the error seems to imply, but can't imagine why this is happening.  If anyone has a suggestion, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks....

Just a thought, did you try a different USB port?

Tried both ports, neither worked, but I figured it out.  I had to set an option deep in the BIOS to force it to treat the usb drive as a floppy drive, the auto setting would not work.  Thank you.
