Unraid OS version 6.10.3 available

Recommended Posts

After I upgraded from 6.10.2 to 6.10.3 on an Unraid VM on ESXi, all hard drives connected to a LSI SAS2008 HBA in IT Mode being passthrough are no longer detected. Reverting back to 6.10.2 from the "previous" folder did not fix the issue. Will work more on diagnosing this issue.

Update: Restarting the ESXi host fixed the issue and HBA was still detected after upgrading to  6.10.3.

After upgrading from 6.10.2 to 6.10.3 my system is freezing constantly.

I am getting lots of CPU Stall related errors in the logs:

Can confirm, downgrading to 6.10.2 solved my issues with freezing and terrible performance.

HP z820 w. dual E5-2695v2 Xeons here, 6.10.3 works like a charm. Something else causing that?

Everything works as expected however, both the main page and the dashboard show no hardware information whatsoever. I see no disks, no CPU stats, no Fan stats, no array however everything else is working just fine. Not sure where to start to troubleshoot this...

I have exactly this issue as well.

Tried rebooting several times no different.

Powered down for a hard reset - no different either.

Anybody else suffering from this issue? Any suggestions for resolution?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

It is all on the local network and direct to the Unraid server, so no reverse proxies.

I have also tried the closing of all the browsers and then booting back up - still no joy.

Stumped...

I think I might have to revert back and possibly try the update again.

I have a new issue, problem is that its a kernel panic so I can't get much out of the logs after it disconnects the "tail -f" I have been running on a separate machine. Below I posted the last crash I got plus what was shown on the monitor attached to the server. The error on the monitor matches the last 3 kernel panics I have gotten with "nf_nat_setup_info+0x146/0x773". I read somewhere that others running into similar errors switched from "macvlan" to "ipvlan"?

I am re-running a full memtest, but last run had no issues found.

You should try that.

Thank you! I found your post here and I will try the first solution. Interestingly I don't see anything at all about the error till the first instance I posted happens and the server crashes after that, seems like others get some errors prior to the crash.

Have you cleared browser cache or tried other browsers?

Thanks trurl.

Yes, all cleared on Safari (on a MacBook Pro)

As suggested - Using Chrome or Opera getting "Your connection is not private NET::ERR_CERT_INVALID", so won't even connect up.

Very Odd, On my MacbookPro using 10.6.3 I can connect via Chrome, Safari and Brave browser.

Are you running any kind of ad blocker or safe browsing browser extensions?

Nope no extensions and on Big Sur 11.6.7.

I will have a go at the weekend and reinstall from my flash back up and try the upgrade again to see if it makes any difference.

Thanks to all for the ongoing suggestions - appreciated!

You should be able to ignore that error and continue. Sometimes on the error page you need to click on "Advanced" or something like that, then "Proceed Anyway" (or something like that - this is from memory. tbh, it may not even be the same error). Just thought it might be worth a shot before you restore from backup.

Hi, Yes I know the type of errors you are talking about (don't trust this page, it's dodgy type pages).

This is different with no ability to click through.

It says this

"192.168... normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Chrome tried to connect to 192.168... this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be 192.168.... or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You cannot visit 192.168.1.191 at the moment because the website sent scrambled credentials that Chrome cannot process. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later."

Obviously it doesn't work later 🙂

Thank you for the suggestion.

Thanks for that link, updated certs etc and still no joy.

Just gone reinstalled on back up - fully recovered.

I will have another go at updating tomorrow, although pretty nervous now 🙂

Try it with firefox, typically it tells you more.

Are you using the weird Limetech-gets-you-a-LE-cert thing?  You might need to reprovision those, silent flash scrambles happen, one of my backup servers has been offline for two weeks because network.cfg was garbled, wasn't caught by CHKDSK or whatever.

But I'd back down all the way to local http first.  Since you can't hit the GUI, move /boot/config/network.cfg and network-rules.cfg to .old or whatever and reboot.  It should come up with the default settings (DHCP etc).  Then add back the features you want one-by-one and see if and where it stops you.

I am still on 6.9.2 and my server runs very well with no issues but was thinking of updating to the latest 6.10.3.....but issue is I'm not much of a computer/unraid expert so I'm nervous of it not going well.  Are there certain things (like hardware and applications) that are going to be more likely to cause trouble?

Thanks!

Most of the time the upgrades are painless but is always worth taking precautions against anything going wrong.   Make sure you have a backup of your flash drive before attempting the upgrade as you can then easily revert by copying the backup back onto the flash drive.

It is a good idea to turn of auto-start of the array until you have done an initial check after the upgrade.   Temporarily disabling the Docker and VM services is also not a bad idea.

The one item that most frequent lay causes problems is if you have VMs with hardware pass-through as the IDs of the hardware can change.   In the worst case you can find an ID associated with a GPU now ends up assigned to a HBA.  Make sure that you do not have my VMs set to auto-start until you can check the passed through hardware.
