May 24, 201115 yr I noticed the other day my 4GB flash drive was half full on my new build and thought that cant be right and ignored it. Today i saw it was almost out of room. The culprit is my syslogs. they were over 2.5 gigs in space. Part of the reason is i went away for the weekend with a bad drive and i had thousands and thousands of sas disconnect reconnect errors. the other killer is the mover script moving millions of files. I do game dev work i copy thousands of few k files to my cache drive daily. those are all going into the syslog. I noticed when i shut down on my console the other day it spit an error "zip not installed. install for syslog compression" or something of that nature. but i barely caught that. especially since i run the server headless. perhaps including some form of zip in the base build for those like me that dont catch i need to add it after. or some sort of cleanup of the logs? I'm not sure what happens when i fill the drive, but i am sure it is bad. Even after adding the unzip package and forced reboot. To re-gain the space, I manually deleted them,
