Dell Inspiron 530 - Boot Error

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have an Inspiron 530 about 3-4 y/o.  I installed UNRAID but, when I boot with the USB device, I have a Boot error.  I tried my USB key on another computer and everything is fine....

I upgraded the BIOS to version 18, no changes.

I tried several configuration in the BIOS, activate/deactivate features.  Still not able to boot and always the small message top left of the screen:  Boot error.

Is anybody can help me with this.

Thanks

Stephane

Are you sure you have the unRAID flash drive set up properly?  Instructions are here (Windows instructions are at the top, scroll down for Mac instructions).

Also, have you assigned the flash drive as the primary boot device in the Dell's BIOS?  Does it show up as an option under 'boot priority'?

On a dell that I use as a test server I have to hit F12 to go into a "boot" devices" menu.  From there I can select the USB drive.  I can't actually force the Dell to boot via USB without doing this the first time.  After I do it I am good to go until I unplug the machine and power is lost.
