June 27, 20224 yr I restarted my UnRaid 6.9.2. system a week or two ago after months of being turned off (for non-technical reasons). It was fine for a bit but then I got "device is disabled" on disk 3. I thought it might be cables or my disk. I downloaded diagnostics, powered down, checked cables (they seem OK) then powered up again. It's still disabled. I reran diagnostics. As far as I can tell the SMART data is OK. Diagnostics from before and after power down are attached. What do I do to get disk3 out of its disabled state? I have a new disk ready to go if it's needed - in fact if appropriate I'd rather rebuild onto the new disk - I need to add some extra space to my array anyway, and the new disk is 10Tb as opposed to disk3 which is 6Tb. Thanks as always for your help. obelisk-diagnostics-20220627-1537.zip obelisk-diagnostics-20220627-2304.zip
June 27, 20224 yr Community Expert It does look like a power/connection problem, but once a disk gest disabled it needs to be rebuilt, since the emulated disk is mounting you can rebuild on top, would still recommend replacing/swapping cables to rule that out id it happens again to the same disk. https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Storage_Management#Rebuilding_a_drive_onto_itself
June 27, 20224 yr Author Thanks JorgeB, I'll test the cables by swapping out. Is it possible under these circumstances to rebuild onto a new disk instead of onto itself?
