May 25, 201115 yr My server seems to be running fine now but I just checked the syslog from unMenu and saw the errors in the attached image. I am brand new to Linux, can somebody tell me if this is something i need to worry about or not, it showed up last time I had my server on too. and of course if you have the time please explain some of the error to me so i can learn if it is a problem or not. errors started with May 25 18:08:36 Elephant kernel: [803]: scst: __scst_register_target_template:293:***ERROR***: Failed to register target template mvst_scst (Routine) and ended with May 25 18:08:36 Elephant kernel: Pid: 803, comm: modprobe Not tainted 2.6.32.9-unRAID #8 (Errors) Thank you in advance for any responses Parts used Case : NORCO RPC-4220 MoBo : SUPERMICRO MBD-C2SEE-O LGA 775 Intel G43 ATX Intel Motherboard OS : purchased the usb pre installed OS from Lime Tech CPU : Intel Celeron 430 Conroe-L 1.8GHz 512KB L2 Cache LGA 775 35W Single-Core RAM : Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Desktop Memory Model KVR1066D3N7/2G PSU : CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W HDD'sx4 : SAMSUNG Spinpoint F4 HD204UI 2TB 5400 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive controler cards x2 : SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 Cablex2 : NORCO C-SFF8087-D SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 Internal Multilane SAS Cable cable : 3Ware CBL-SFF8087OCF-05M SFF-8087 to Discrete Forward Breakout Cable syslog-2011-05-25.txt
May 26, 201115 yr do you have more than one of the same disk controller card? It looks to me as if it is just saying the driver has already been registered.
May 26, 201115 yr Author yes i have 2 x SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8, so basically it loaded the drivers for the first one and therefore does not need to load for the second but tries anyway and thats what all of those errors are for?
