May 26, 201115 yr Guys sorry if this has been covered, but I've looked and read and searched and can't find it anywhere. My build: MSI 880GM-E41 Mobo Athlon II Regor 260 CPU GSkill 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333 RAM 2 x 2TB Samsung F4s (precleared) 1 x 1TB Samsung F3 (precleared) All in a Antec 300 case with UnRaid 4.7 installed on a 4gb Lexar Firefly This is a new build I just got up and running. I've only enabled one of the F4s as storage, with no parity yet until i get some more of my movies etc moved over. Will probably make the other F4 parity, and the F3 a cache drive. I've only transferred a small amount of music to test shares with. On my Win7 main rig, I can see my shares, and my disks. And I can get inside them and see the folder structure within. But if I try to access a subfolder or file in a share, it hangs. Like I can get inside my "Music" share and see my albums in subfolders. But if I click on one of my albums or files, it hangs and times out. Win7 says I don't have permission or the file no longer exists. I'm a relative noob to networking, and a bonafide server noob. Any help you can give me is appreciated. Syslog attached Lummers_Syslog.txt
May 26, 201115 yr Author Also, it seems that accessing the server admin pages can be painfully slow. Like 30+ seconds to load unMenu sometimes. Is that normal?
May 26, 201115 yr Also, it seems that accessing the server admin pages can be painfully slow. Like 30+ seconds to load unMenu sometimes. Is that normal? It depends. It can be if it has to spin up the disks. Joe L.
May 26, 201115 yr Author That is with the disks spun up. I'm more concerned with why I can't access the actual data in my shares. Anyone have any ideas?
May 26, 201115 yr It looks like the Atheros NIC is causing problems. This is indicated by the random garbage characters in the syslog. Atheros NICs are known not to work with unRAID. Get a cheap Intel PCI NIC and disable the Atheros.
June 2, 201115 yr Author Yep. That was indeed the problem. Cannibalized an old Gigabyte board that I noticed was on the confirmed hardware list and it works like a charm. Thank you very much for the help
