Issues Upgrading from 6.9.2 to 6.10.3 - Stuck at loading /bzroot

Featured Replies

I have tried multiple times to upgrade from 6.9.2 to 6.10.3 but I have had no success

Every time I have upgraded the system gets stuck at loading /brzroot.... ok

I don't believe the USB itself is the issue as I have reverted back to the 6.9.2 backup and it boots fine.

I have tried different USB ports, rewrote the USB with a fresh 6.10.3 image with the same problem, and ran the upgrade assistant and it found no issue.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks!

Still worth trying a different flash drive, you don't need a key, just to see if the boots, you can also try booting UEFI if currently booting CMS or vice-versa.

So I tried to a new flash drive, still stuck at  loading /brzroot.... ok

I am currently booting in UEFI but the option to swap to CSM is greyed out I am not able to enable it in the BIOS.

I ensured that the USB is UEFI set to boot UEFI

You need a dedicated GPU for those boards, try if you have one available.

Also try booting using the GUI mode with UEFI, for some reason it sometimes works if the other option doesn't.

Don't have a spare GPU to try and do that.

GUI mode doesn't boot either :(

So I took the USB and threw it into a machine lying around at my office and it booted just fine with 6.10 UEFI , thinking something with my motherboard doesn’t like 6.10.3 just don’t know what it would be.

Updated my motherboard BIOS and that resolved the issue.
