Unable to finish parity swap procedure - ver 6.9.2

Featured Replies

I'm struggling to upgrade my parity from an 8TB drive to a 14TB drive. I followed the instructions on the Parity Swap Procedure guide but when I got to step 14, I noticed that I did not have a copy button. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here to upgrade my parity drive or if I'm over thinking it. My goal is to drop in the new drive and not lose any of the data on my other 3 disks.

Thanks!

You do not mention having a failed data drive?

You are likely to get better informed feedback if you post your system’s diagnostics zip file.

Does the wiki actually mention replacing parity drive other than in the parity swap procedure? I skimmed over them just now and it seems to mostly be about replacing data drives but maybe I overlooked it.

Yes.   It has a special entry for upgrading parity disks and mentions parity in rebuilding onto the same disk.

I will look into at least adding a comment in the section of the case of replacing a disk that if it is the same size the same process can be used for parity disks.
