[Solved] Another 'can't access shares' guy

Featured Replies

Upgraded to 5.0b6a yesterday (from 4.7) and everything seemed to go smooth. Went to copy some files today to a share (which I can see in Explorer) and I get a 'Windows cannot access \\TOWER\Videos' message, Videos being one of three shares. I can access disk1, disk2, disk3, etc. but cannot access the Videos folder on any of those disks either. None of my media players (Boxee, XBMC, Sage) can acccess the shares either. Syslog attached... any ideas?

Edit: After nosing around, I went back to the New Permissions screen in 5.0b6a and checked the box again. Since the file and directory changes are supposed to be running in the background, I exited this screen the first time I ran it. I telnetted into my box and saw only some files/directories had their permissions changed to 'nobody users'. So I went back and checked the box to run the New Permissions again, this time staying on that page in the browser and checking the progress with PuTTY. This time I could see the changes taking place in PuTTY. I just let the routine run through (watching the progress from the New Permissions screen - which I had moved away from earlier) and now everything is back to normal.
