(SOLVED) DISABLED DISK - I/O Errors but SMART tests show no issues

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've run into my first real disk issue while running Unraid and my untrained eye can't find anything to be concerned about.

Looking at the logs, the drive got disabled on 6/21 and after running short and extended SMART tests (attached), both passed and look fine to me.

I also took a look at the system log and found some I/O errors which I'm guessing is what caused the drive to be disabled.  The full log is also attached.

Can someone please help confirm if this is a non-issue, possibly a loose wire, or is it something more serious?  I'm running Unraid 6.9.2.

Thank you in advance!

Disk look OK and problem happened right after spin up, rebuild the disk and if it happens again I would either connect that disk to a different controller, like the Intel SATA ports or disable spin down.

Thank you! Disk is up and running again and I’ll make sure to keep an eye on it in case it happens again.
