External unassigned Drive does not offer Mount option

Featured Replies

I am a new user of Unraid and have been following Space invader one tutorials. I have set up my server and now want to add data. I have a 3TB external drive which I have loaded Home Movies etc from my Win 10 Pc. Unfortunately, when I attach it to my server as an unassigned drive, the only option Unraid gives me is Format. Following Ed's advice I have installed the two Plug in's, Unassigned devices and Unassigned devices Plus, which I understand will allow a NTFS file system to be recognized by Unraid. I have checked the device settings and the only boxes active are automount and show partitions. I assume this is all that's required. The other thing I tried was making sure I can see the files a Windows PC and as a last resort I swapped the drive into another external drive bay, still the same issue. Am I doing something stupid here? If so please excuse a newbie.

You would need to look at the diagnostics to see what UD is seeing when you try to attach the drives. If you can't figure it out by yourself, post in the Unassigned Devices support thread and attach your diagnostics covering the period where you have the drive attached.
