Windows VM Stopped working. Hanging at Boot or Required devices isn't connected

Featured Replies

I had a windows VM that used to run just fine. Today I noticed my screen completely frozen and when I restarted the VM, it kept hanging on the TianoCore screen. I am on v6.9.2. Nothing was really changed in the VM settings or on Unraid before this happened.

A few times I have also come across a blue screen during booting with Windows saying A required device isn't connected

Some of the things I have tried out:

  1. I had a USB host controller passed through [Group 26 05:00.3] USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Matisse USB 3.0 Host Controller. Reading a couple of other threads suggested passing through : Group 24 05:00.01 Non-Essential Instrumentation [1300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Starship/Matisse Reserved SPP which led to an error saying Group 25 is not owned so passed through: Group 25 05:00.1 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Matisse USB 3.0 Host Controller [Note]: Did this through the VFIO - PCI plugin and rebooted each time
  2. Read about Ryzen 3900x needing a specific RAM speed. So reduced mine to 2667 (I have 4 sticks of ram with 4 slots)
  3. I copied over the original VM XML

Windows VM XML - Original - Worked previously, not working now:
